Today Philly gym owners are protesting un-real new regulations on their businesses. A group of fitness business owners have gotten together to form the “Philadelphia Fitness Coalition” in order to band together to fight for their lives. Their petition has garnered 2,970 signatures (as of this writing at 9:43am on Tuesday, November 24.

It originally began with a goal of 2,500 signatures when it launched yesterday. They have reset their goal to be 5,000 signatures at this point. While a petition is not an enforceable legal measure, it can show support from the community, so long as those signatures are from bonafide Philadelphian residents, of course.

Working Out The Kinks In Our Government Is A Hard Work Out

Philly gym owners are protesting Philadelphia mayor Jim Kenney and Philadelphia health commissioner Thomas Farley’s new orders which would force them to shut down their businesses again.

This comes shortly after claims that cases are surging in the city, as well as the state. If you’ve been following how the city & state government (specifically Philly & PA) interact together, you’ll notice a pattern. Especially throughout this pandemic, they have been in lock-step with one another.

In fact, the city of Philadelphia and state of Pennsylvania governments have also been in lock-step with other cities & states around the country. They have been imposing the same ridiculous sets of guidelines at around the same time. If they want to run things like a monarchy, we should treat them like that. In other words, King Wolf is the man who should be held responsible for all of it.

How Will Our City Respond To The Fact That Gym Owners Are Protesting For Their Right To Survive?

Philadelphia police, mayor’s office, and district attorney all took a very liberal (pun not intended) approach to dealing with rioters. They mostly excused the entire affair because the rioters acted in close proximity to lawful protestors. While there were some arrests, it was astonishing how many people got away with crimes that were committed in the open.

So will the city treat gym owners the same way?

Philly Gym Owners Probably Won’t Make National Headlines

Around this time you’ll also probably see more videos popping up showing police officers arresting people for breaking curfew. Similarly, I am willing to bet there will be a few videos of people having their Thanksgiving ruined. It’s become a sick kind of theater, and there is a market for that kind of reality horror show. Once the local channels are broadcasting this kind of stuff and seeing what audiences respond to, you’ll see major outlets pushing those same videos. Social media companies and influencers will publish last, making at least (1) of them go viral.

It’s a formula.

Back To Our Story, Business Owners Who Give Gains For A Living, May Need Supplements Now

The Philadelphia Fitness Coalition is saying that they can’t shut their businesses down without some kind of assistance. How could they go on like that? Nobody could. At some point, the city & state governments are forcing people to choose between breaking a fake law they just invented, or going out of business. If they have no economic opportunity, as well as financial penalties or costs associated with going out of business, how will they survive? This will contribute to much more depression, suicide, and other counter-productive behavior.

It already has, and everybody knows it.

A true irony of this entire situation, is that for nearly 10 months, our city & state have imposed lockdowns suggesting it supports good health. But they never talk about fitness; either physical or mental. Our city & state government are not here to protect our well being. These orders don’t do that. We all know it. But some people are still pretending they do. But the fact is, gyms & fitness centers give people the ability to take care of themselves; by choice. People choose to go there. Or they choose not to.

Unlike the lockdowns, which are being presented with a government threat of penalization. That isn’t right. They have been doing it for too long, and people are done abiding now. We are sick of this and won’t stand for it any longer. A legal, and just reckoning is coming. Our nation must be a place where people are free to leave their house and workout. Nobody is forcing you off the couch and onto the treadmill. Just people some people choose to do that, doesn’t make them wrong. You’re not righteous for attempting to force people into submission either.

The gyms may need relief, just like the rest of us.

But we’ll all get a lot more fit if we let them open, and keep living life.
